Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

All of our learners rely on classical literacy skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening to communicate, research, and innovate.  These same skills are foundational to the new literacies: digital, media, global.  In this session, Dr. Jacobs will draw from her extensive work in showing teachers precisely how they can develop both in their classrooms.    Come prepared for a "hands-on" experience exploring strategies for improving the language capacity of your learners, writing proficiency, speaking and listening capability even as you employ modern tools and applications. You will leave with a wealth of resources to support your practice and encourage your learners’ investigations. Thoughtful development of social networks and resources to expand the reach of the classroom will be central to our session. Bring your laptop or device!
