All of our learners rely on classical literacy skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening to communicate, research, and innovate.  These same skills are foundational to the new literacies: digital, media, global.  In this session, Dr. Jacobs will draw from her extensive work in showing teachers precisely how they can develop both in their classrooms.    Come prepared for a "hands-on" experience exploring strategies for improving the language capacity of your learners, writing proficiency, speaking and listening capability even as you employ modern tools and applications. You will leave with a wealth of resources to support your practice and encourage your learners’ investigations.
